On March 8th, Agora convened staff, coworkers, fellow space operators and other members from our community to discuss how Agora could ‘decentralize’ some of our operations and provide more opportunities for us to connect to new members and each other throughout the day and space.
It was a really good experience and we now have *6 new projects* we are working on as a Collective.
AGORA COMMUNITY COOKBOOK
A physical cookbook, kept in the kitchen that has a new recipe added to it for each coworker dinner. Of course, this cookbook can be added to throughout the day for whoever is running the kitchen – a bit like a journal for the food we love making together. Project leads: Morgan Sully, Joachim Lohkamp.
AGORA ONE PAGE WELCOME MANUAL + PRIVATE SOCIAL NETWORK
A one page ‘owner’s manual given to people new to Agora that facilitates trust, autonomy and connection to people new to the community + private social network *just* for Agorians. The network has user profiles, status updates and multi-media sharing across web and mobile devices (working beta prototype here: http://hallo.agoracollective.org/) Project Leads: Tainá Moreno, Remí Recocque, Morgan Sully
AGORA ROUNDTABLE + MONTHLY NEWSLETTER
Facilitated roundtable discussions that happen during the day, evening and weekend in our café with like-minded individuals/professionals in Agora. A monthly newsletter that communicates this. Project Leads: Sun Mee Mmknopf, Caique Tizzi, Marcela Donato
AGORA MEMBER CHECKIN BOARD
An analog (gasp!) board that has ‘cards’ with individuals photo, name, needs/offers and ‘office hours’ – times that they are available to give help/interact with each other. Project Leads: Mirjam Wiekenkamp, Bernhard Brandt, Denis Passau.
AGORA NEW MEMBER POLAROID + FACILITATED CAFÉ INTERACTION FORMATS
A board, much like the above + facilitated lunch-time topics for discussion at our big table downstairs. Project Leads: Pedro Jardim, Sonja Bichsel.
AGORA MODULAR RESOURCE PLANNER
A public board that allows people to openly plan the use of space by WHO, WHEN, WHERE and for WHAT (protoype here. – will be made bigger) Project Leads: Torsten Fischer, Meggy Tu, Chris
NOTE: project names are rough approximations synthesized from the day. *please leave notes in the comments and let me know if I need to update/clarify*
