It’s a funny thing that happens on a monday.
A fresh start, every week again.
And although a lot of times monday feels like ‘I wish it was friday’, today started with a soft sun light reflecting the city’s autumn tones and bathing the water tower at mittelweg 50 in yellow and red. On the way here the sounds of the city waking up were muffled by the seducing beats of Nicolas Jaar, Mount Kimbie and of my footsteps walking over the crispy leafs. The smell of burned firewood leave no doubt that summer is really over, and guess what? I dont find that a bad thing at all!
Walking into this place I feel a restlessness accumulated in a well deserved weekend and an excitement to get back to work! A day of setting goals, with brand new energy and focus.
A beautiful element of a monday at Agora is Victoria Larssen’s soothing voice asking me to breath in and out and relaxing me even when my body is twisted in ways I thought were not possible. The sounds of Nicolas Jaar and leafs made place for her soft voice, my breathing and Anthony and the Johnsons. I peak up out of my Adho Mukha Svanasana and see her beautifully tattooed body effortlessly stretched down, and it makes me want to try harder. The little massage at the end of the exercises make me wish it was monday every day.
Going down to the first floor, all relaxed, the soft and concentrated ticking of laptops makes me want to go to work myself. And reflecting on what this week holds, I am happy that we are just getting started.
A week where the artist and critic Peter Suchin will give a lecture on the sublime, the exciting exhibition ‘Unbound’ for the Nacht und Nebel festival will take place, the café will finally open it’s doors and another week closer to the opening of the atelier.
So I welcome this monday thankfully and wish you all a beautiful week!
Namasté!
