AFFECT is Agora Collective’s program for collaborative artistic practices currently in its third edition. This year, the program of AFFECT will be running from May until November at Agora’s new project space Agora Rollberg. Each month-long module of the participatory workshop cycle is facilitated by one international, Berlin-based artist or curator: Judith Lavagna, Diego Agulló, Lorenzo Sandoval, Thelma Bonavita, Sarah Margarita Lewis and Kinderhook&Caracas. The interdisciplinary modules then culminate into an climactic event every last weekend of the month. This includes exhibitions, readings, discussions and publications.
In order, the curriculum of each workshop of AFFECT will focus on: exhibition making, art and economy, archival practices, sound material production, exploring the idea of attention and a TV production.
The hybrid structures of research and learning in the organisations of artists, curators and collectives along topics are developed throughout the course and change over the working period. This year, AFFECT will loosely circle around the topic of Media asking – how to communicate – how to bring content across – how to store and save.
Unraveling publicly throughout the course of AFFECT is the new project space Agora Rollberg. This 2200 m² industrial building is a working and exhibition space for the presentation and production of diverse artistic practices. Agora Rollberg includes a contemporary dance platform called AGORA MOVE, studio spaces for artists and a new residency program. Simultaneously, the collective CRCLR e.V. is researching ecological and sustainable practices. With a strong participatory direction, Agora Rollberg is working in the same communal manner as Agora Mittelweg.
We are pleased to invite you all to the public events throughout the AFFECT cycle.
